I used to use Bookdog for managing my bookmarks in Safari in the past and it worked very well

Now I am using Firefox much more than Safari and would like to sync my bookmarks between the 2 and elminate duplicates etc. I am thinking of purchasing the newer version "BookMaster" but want to make sure it works well with Big Sur

Has anyone here 1) tried Bookmaster on Big Sur and 2) does it work well with Firefox Sync with multiple Macs and iOS devices?

Just thought I would check here before I "dive in" and make a big mess of my bookmarks 🤣

I've been a BookMacster user myself over a couple macOS' - including Big Sur. Enable Full Disk Access for BookMacster and you're set.

There's a trial too of the software? Perhaps without a Save option!?

I've been able to sync will all available browsers on Big Sur. Of those that I use; Firefox, Brave, Chrome and Safari. Just give Access to Whole Disk

Let me quickly say that you _could_ export current bookmarks from Firefox and all other browsers you might have on deck after importing in BookMacster and also export Firefox and all other browsers you have on deck as a bookmark file from within Firefox and so on - and then delete Bookmarks from all browsers after cleaning them all up in BookMacster. And only then export to Firefox etc. To avoid any cross-problems with syncing. Nothing worse than your browser once again calling for the old bookmarks and making a further mess of the bookmarks.

BookMacster I also have to add isn't good at clearing out all the 404 sites - often it doesn't even help in any case. But it's good for sorting and de-duplicate bookmarks. Be careful with the BookMacster interface too. It has its own life when it goes from one section of the program to another.

The author doesn't see a problem despite me clearly showing him the issue - it was still there, the bug, last time I checked. And that was recent.

thanks for the reply and pointers 👍 - especially about enabling full disk access

FYI - I did go ahead - and purchased it - it is worth $22 to me - got my firefox and safari book marks synced  - now I have a folder "other" in each with 800 bookmarks to sift through - but they are all in one folder (and not all over the place) and maybe they are orphaned or 404 book marks? It's great to have the same bookmark structure in both Safari and Firefox

Anyway very happy with the results 👍

BTW - been using the "Bookdog Bark" as a ringtone / alert for years - great for friends and family alerts - cool little ringtone that makes it easy to recognize them 😃
