Has anyone else noticed with a large book, it literally takes a few seconds to change page?

If you are to do, e.g. left arrow, left arrow, left arrow, in order to go back 3 pages quickly... you may as well put on a pizza and wait.

No, but I see that they have added silly "effects" when turning pages, making it a bit slower. That is what Apple do, cosmetics rather than function, at the same time as they strip editing of meta data and more or less ruin Books.

I can't see how to turn that off.. it's what's making it so slow. I basically can't go tap tap tap to go 3 pages forward anymore.. insane.

System preferences / Accessibility /Display /Reduce motion may help.

Nope; it still is slow AF; takes around 1 second. To go several pages at once, boil the kettle.

Same Problem with my MacBook Pro 15 2018 on Monterey. Any solutions?

There is no problems on my MacBook Pro 15 2012 on Catalina.
iPad OS 15, iOS 15 Books app also work fine.

I'm not sure what's going on.

I'm having the exact same problem. It takes like 3-5 seconds to turn a single page, ridicuous! iBooks used to be the gold standard for epub reading applications.

Can people who are having this problem please provide feedback to Apple by clicking on the "Provide Books Feedback" on the books App?
