Is the only place to get newish autobiographies for the iPad from iBooks or are there places I can download them free on the net?

Do I understand you correctly? You want to get autobiographies, recently published, for free, even though they normally cost money?

If so, have a look at the following:

Warez/Serials/Keys.
Do not post software serial numbers or keys or refer people to specific websites, software, or techniques whose purpose is to break or bypass software licensing methods, distribute cracks, or obtain or use commercial software or media in violation of its license and/or for copyright violation. Do not ask for or give such help.

Even though some might get annoyed of reading this, the thread title guy strikes again:

A more descriptive and precise thread title will help cater to the right audience and get you more responses. (see rule #3 under Minor Problems)
To edit your thread title, just click on the

button on the bottom right of your original post and then click the "Go Advanced" button below your message.

Have you also taken a look at MRoogle, since that question may have been asked several times?

If you buy books from other sources, there is a program called Calibre that will convert most formats into ePub so iBooks can read it.

As for free...$upport your favorite authors. They have to make a living too.

I wondered with so many free books on the Project G if you could also get autobiographies from other such projects. Obviously not.
I in no way am discussing piracy. Apologies if I did not make this clear.

Almost all "free" books are in the public domain and usually (but not always) older. Almost all newer releases are copyrighted and you must buy a licensed copy.

Thanks. I'll make Fernando Torres's book my first purchase.
