Hi there,

I created a partition on my Mac using Boot Camp Assistant so that I can install Windows on it.

I know this because when I go into Boot Camp Assistant now, it gives me the option to remove the partition if I want.

But when I restart my Mac holding down the option key, only Macintosh HD shows and no Windows partition.

I created the Windows 8 install disk on an 8GB SD card.

When I plug the SD card into the Mac and hold option while booting, I can open it up and see the Windows installation setup. But if I install it, I don't think that it would be on the Windows partition?

I'm really confused, so hopefully someone can help.

Thanks!

The Windows installation will show a list of all partitions on the hard disk. Just continue with the Boot Camp setup by booting the Windows 8 installation, and a list of the partitions should show up. You'll have to reformat the partition as Boot Camp Assistant reformats the partition to FAT32. It will tell you in the list that it's the Boot Camp partition.

No, it will not show up when holding option.
