And I have to reinstall windows, is there potential to mess with the OS X install?

No, there shouldn't be, just go through the install process as you did the first tie round.

I use Carbon Copy Cloner for my OSX partition
And I use WinClone for my Windows partition

If Windows goes nuts... I can just go back to my previous clone without a reinstall. Works great!

Interesting.

So if I were to create a partition for windows so I can play some games, would it be easy to get rid of said partition if I'm not happy with the performance?

example: I allocate 10gb for WinXp, get disgusted with it.. is there a way to add that 10gb or erase it so it's usable by my OS X partition?

Sure, Boot Camp will do that for you.
