Has anyone attempted installing Boot Camp in one of the Santa Rosa MBP's? I know they've been out about 27 hours now, but I'm curious for those who bought it, if Boot Camp is running properly. The rumor I have heard is that it isn't...can anyone clarify?

also, when the bootcamp apple drivers come out, how would I remove those in favor of the apple ones, or are they replaced automatically? Also, is there any risk of damaging the comp from these nonapple drivers? Maybe they clock the gpu higher than apple wants it to?

If it isn't mission critical to you to install Windows right away, I would call it a safe bet to wait for the Boot Camp update with the new MBP drivers included. I just like to play it safe.
The Boot Camp update is already in the testing pipeline over at Apple, so you shouldn't have to wait too long.
There should be no risk damaging your computer from installing nonapple drivers. Afterall, the video card drivers that come with the bootcamp installer are just default or slightly modified ATI/AMD or nvidia drivers.

I got a macbook pro yesterday, so its one of the new ones, if that matters, and i tried to install bootcamp, the first thing that happened was when boot camp was partitioning my drive, i choose 32 gigs it told me that there was a volume error and to run the disk utility. So i ran the disk utility and it told me there was a minor error that could not be repaired so i ran disk utility from the cd that came with the mac and fixed the error. I then tried to install bootcamp again, this time I got past the partitioning and installed xp with service pack 2 on my mac book pro. I then insterted the drivers cd and it got about half way through with installing then xp froze and i had to do a manual shut down. When i booted back up it went to the blue screen and said something which i now cant remember. after that i erased bootcamp and unpartitioned the drive. I checked and there were no errors on the drive and i have been weary to try boot camp again. Does anyone know why this happened, should i be nervous for the state of my mac, it is only 1 day old. Does anyone have any advice or experiance with this? please help me. thanks
do you think boot camp 1.3 will help solve my problem because i used 1.2 when i tried this

i have had a similar problem at the part where the installation of the drivers; my comp also froze and i had to do a manual shutdown...then upon reboot, i get a message that says pci.sys is corrupt. so like you, i had to wipe windows and start over. i then tried with bootcamp 1.3 and same problem, so I don't know. I sent apple feedback on bootcamp about this, so hopefully they'll know what is going on and come with a fix.
