Boot Camp + Parallels vs. Parallels

Hi everyone,

I am getting a new mac today. I was wondering what I should go with: Boot Camp installed and Parallels to virtualize inside OS X (so I can do either virtuluaization OR boot so that Windows has full control) OR should I just do Parallels?

Parallels-only Windows is working alright with this computer. (Don't worry, I will be deactivating my Parallels license on this computer or uninstalling it or whatever.)

Which one should I do? What performance issues does Parallels have with using another partition? What features are disabled when using Boot Camp with Parallels?

My Opinion? leave bootcamp behind, and go with just Parallels. You have the ability to run both OSX and Win at the same time, seamless switching, even sharing of files if set up right. Plus I think Parallels using a "virtual" disk is a better option for managing disk space.

It's just that in my experience Parallels running Windows is somewhat slow, and the file/hdd management in Parallels is not proven to be corruption-proof. I just am thinking about having the option of booting into fully native Windows (not virtualization) and what Parallels features I would lose by doing so, and if this is both fast and reliable/
