Is there anyone out there running Boot Camp w/ Windows XP and playing EverQuest (original) on a new model iMac with the ATI Radeon 2600 chip?

I cannot get EQ to play nice with the video drivers it seems...I can get into the game but there are a lot of odd video issues and I cannot go full screen.

I even updated from the standard drivers that are on the Mac OS X CD to the full Radeon 2600 Pro drivers and this didn't help...

Any other ideas? Thanks!

The driver that comes with the Apple DVD is an old driver.
If you want to improve the performanes just download the new drivers from the ATI site.
Check the 2600 XT topic to see how to install them.

Yes, I have tried this. I used the updated driver from a few weeks ago and the newest one from (last week) I believe...still no luck =\

My friend may have had this same problem -- his video was acting all funny in XP so I read around for awhile and came across a thread somewhere that says the Boot Camp installer installs the wrong video drivers for the 24" iMac. It installs the mobile XT card or something -- if you unpack the catalyst drivers and manually update the display driver you can uncheck "Show Compatible" hardware and select the PRO driver instead. This seems to have solved the problem my friend was experiencing and has allowed his video card to run at much higher frame rates and looks a lot cleaner. Hope this helps.
