Hi all,

I was doing some experimenting on my MacBook Pro and formatted it using a Windows Vista x64 SP1 DVD and installed the operating system, however I notice that there is around a 30 second boot delay where the machine sits at the gray screen before it'll boot into Windows. Does anyone know why this occurs, whether it's an issue from the startup disk being missing or...?

Could be. If you have bootcamp installed in Windows, go into the bootcamp settings and set Windows as the default OS and click reboot. Should stop after that.

I never installed Boot Camp in Windows as I was trying to see how well it would run "native" so to speak, if I booted from the Mac OS X Leopard Install DVD and used the Startup Disk utility to set the disk correctly would that rectify the issue? (Or does the Startup Disk utility on the DVD not recognize any Windows partitions)?
