Boot drive using PCIe or Optical bay - Please Help

I've purchased 2 Samsungs SSD Pro (256GB and 512GB). I'm planning to have the 256GB as my boot drive and the 512GB for the user library. I also purchased the Apricorn Velocity Solo x2 PCIe card. My question is should I put the boot drive on the PCIe card and the 512GB under the optical for the library or the other way around.

The reason I'm asking this kind redundant question is because I've read that if the system residing on the PC!e card can be a problem due to the chipset of the cards and the speeds are about the same (sata 2 and sata 3) as for the system.

Will work fine either way, depends how you will 'use' that 512 user drive? If it will be lots of large files, lots of movement, etc then you'll see more benefit by putting that SSD on the x2. If that user library is stuff you infrequently access, then use the x2 for your boot volume.

The user files (512G) will reside my home folder with lightroom, itunes, iphoto, FCP libraries (Raw photos and Raw movies will be on the 3.5 HD's).
The 256GB for the system only.
Don't really know which gets more movement or hits between the system vs home folder.

Is there some reason why you wouldn't just RAID-0 the two of them and keep your OS and user files on the same drive? The speed would be amazing.

I was thinking of placing a Boot/OSX SSD on a Velocity PCIe card.

Win 7 on a small SSD in the optical bay, but using the extra SATA3 data cable from the PCIe card.

2 larger SSDs (RAID '0') in drive bays #1 & #2 for LR, FCPX, etc.

As they are different size drives, I imagine you'd lose a lot of capacity with RAID 0.

I switched the drives around today. Boot is faster having the SSD with the system under the optical bay. Speeds are about the same 485 mbs as when the same SSD was connected to the card. I Think I'll leave as it is: System on the 256GB and user on the 512GB mounted on the card.
