I have a 12" PB 1.5 768ram. I just timed my boot time. it was 1:06. Is that a bit long?

Doesn't sound too bad...
I've never actually timed my Power Mac starting up. I will next time I reboot.
I know Photoshop CS2 takes 6 second to load on it though!

6 seconds is good or bad?

Maybe a bit long, but it doesn't suggest anything hideously wrong, necessarily. Have you loaded a lot of fonts onto it recently? My PB boot slowed down considerably when I did this.

Not a problem at all if you haven't, just might be a reason for slowing down if you had.

The simplest way to load a font is to either double click the font file (that you downloaded, for instance) and it will load it in "Font Book" or to open "Font Book" in Applications and click File>Add Fonts and select the file from there.

Font Book is a pretty awful font management program if you have hundreds of fonts, but by the sounds of it you don't, so it should be fine.
