how fast does your device boot up? i just compared the boot times for my 4th gen touch, my iPhone 3GS, and my girlfriends iPhone 4S I was actually surprised.

iPod touch: 33.1 seconds

iPhone 3GS: 47.6 seconds

iPhone 4S: 37.5 seconds

i was shocked my ipod beat her iphone. just for fun, i did my little 3rd gen nano, and that booted in 16.9 seconds :)

I just sold my 4th gen touch, but on iOS 4.2 it was actually pretty fast! Right at 30 seconds on the dot when I timed it once. iOS 6 is a different story, probably more like a minute and a half. Lol.

My new classic isn't bad, but my 2G nano was super fast. Not much to load back then

I've seen CF card modded iPod's that were insanely fast too. Like 10 second range boot times.

Is that different OSes? I guess the former two don't run iOS 7, so all bets are off for boot times.

When I was originally thinking it through assuming they all ran the same OS, I was thinking maybe having the extra modem on board adds to boot time. I'd guess that might explain the difference between the older iPhone and older iPod running equivalent CPU/RAM/GPU.

yea, they are.

:apple: iPod iOS 6.1.6

:apple: iPhone 3GS iOS 6.1.3 (jailbroke, cant update without iTunes

:apple: iPhone 4S iOS 7.1.1
