MP 1,1-5,1 Boot Volume Appears Twice?

Hi All,

I installed OC/Monterey on a new SSD. All went fine with the installation, but now I come to install apps and when I launch the Brave Browser installer, it shows 2 - Boot Volumes? The name of volume "ScrewLoose", it appears once saying 440.14 GB available, 479.76 GB available, then again saying 439.93 GB available, 479.76 available.

Any ideas what is happening? I'm a bit worried to actually do an install in case something is screwed up. I've restarted and the same thing occurs - 2 install/boot volumes with the same name.

There is more weirdness with the "Logic" app. I have bought version 9 and 10 (X). In the App store I see both, one gives a warning, saying it won't work with Monterey, one installs ok. However, when I try to launch it, I get an error saying "In order to use Logic Pro.app, you need to update to the latest version". I click Search App Store and it say App Not Available in your country or region? Again Logic works find when I installed it to a HDD instead of a SSD.

Logic Problem sorted! It was the AppStore App, it really is a garbage app for some many reasons. If this is the best Apple can produce with all is money, all I can say is heaven help us all!

The link I posted explains the boot volume layout. In your screenshot, the layout is expected (except you renamed the boot volume from “Macintosh HD” to “ScrewLoose"), presumably when you performed the install.

Ok, but why did the installer offer me 2 choices for 'ScrewLoose" on the SSD and only one on the HDD?

It was probably a Glitch, I tried it again and it only shows one volume. Would it have mattered which one I picked when it was showing two?
