am keen to make a bootable startup usb. Formatted the usb OK but cannot locate the
OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.5(14F27) file to got to the next step.
I need step by step directions. But all help will be appreciated

The installer will by default download to your /Applications folder. It deletes itself after you run the installer, so yours may not be there. You will need to redownload it from the App Store then quit the installer when it auto launches. Then run the command to make the USB installer.

Once you download the whole Yosemite installer and Quit it when it autolaunches, look for "Install OS X Yosemite" app in the Applications folder.
Do you need instructions on how to make a bootable USB flash drive installer?
