Would it be possible to boot a 27" iMac 2011 with raid 0? It seems to me that it is an inherent capability with the Z68 chipset so why let it go to waste. This also makes breaking one of these open so much more worthwhile, 2 SSDs at raid 0 today instead of an external raid 0 through thunderbolt(maybe) later this year. Also I am certain there will be a healthy starter tax on the thunderbolts as well. With the Z68 it is just your time and the price of the drives.

Please excuse any overt ignorance as I am new to Macs. I did try to research this but couldn't find any relevant info regarding the new iMacs, just that the old ones could not and Mac Pros were the only ones who could because of the raid controller option, which now is inherent in the new iMac because of the Z68 chipset.

Any thoughts on this will be appreciated.
