i know this istnt really a qusteion on windows on a mac but this was the colosest mach in fourm i coudl find

can bootcamp handle a tripple boot, (osX win XP and SuSE 10.1)?

i currently do not own a mac nor have i ever used one but given the price : spec ratio of the latest macs i am sorley tempted!

i am no big windows fan (i only really use it to run games and a few things that only work inb windows) insead spending most of my computing time on SuSE 10.1 my curent linux distro (and what i am writing this on now)

what i am worried about is can bootcamp boot linux (on a seperate partition)

and will the installation of linux (which would normally overwrite the MBR)
be eitehr prevented from doing so (not sure how insation via bootcamp works!)

or can it be restored after it has been overwritten ?

also can bootcamp handle difernt OSes being on totally differnt HDDs rather then seperate partitions on 1 HDD? eg /dev/hda1 = mac, /dev/hda2= linux
/dev/hdb* = windoze

(/dev/hda3 = swap shared between mac and linux (or does mac use swap files ratehr tnan a swap partition as most *nix does?))

i know that there are loads of (mabie too many) questions here but all of them are making me unsure wetehr to get a mac!

Try this
http://refit.sourceforge.net/

it may work better than bootcamp (though I'd still download bootcamp to burn the driver CD needed for Windows).

EDIT: Correction, it still needs bootcamp but this app edits the menu so you can boot into Linux easily.
