Hi,

I have an aluminium iMac and I have recently installed windows on it. Everything went fine but there seems to be a problem with the display driver?

What happens is that when I'm doing something, the computer seems to freeze (music lags) then the display goes black and the computer runs as normal (the music starts playing normally again.)

I thought it was only when I was playing Counter Strike Source but it happens when I'm not too. Is anyone else experiencing this? Any fixes/ suggestions?

I've tried repairing bootcamp drivers but to no avail.

Thanks

ATI have this thing in their drivers called Autorecover, so if the graphics card crashes for whatever reason, it attempts to autoreboot the card and continue with the game. Usually this happens when the card gets too hot or if there's a bug in the graphics driver for the game. This used to happen to me when I was playing GTA:SA on my old PC

Solution: Upgrade your drivers for your card. Not much more you can do I'm afraid!

I have the same trouble one time.
Playing live show with ableton under vista with bootcamp, the display blackout, audio drop for around half second, and then continue but with video blackout.
I have 20 inch imac aluminium 2.4ghz

After that i back to osx, but i really need need use windows due need some vst not available for mac.

Please can install in your machine the new firmware iMac Graphics Firmware Update 1.0 and back to confirm if after this firmware update the trouble is fixed?

I never have a freeze on osx, but this strange video freeze aparently is related with bug on the ati video card.
When cards are pushed to work a lot this freeze happen.

Please if can make the test and report your result for confirm this new graphic firmware fix this ugly trouble, i really apreciate.

Best regards.

NOTE: The firmware launched just hours ago.
