My apologies if this question has been answered already but I was unable to find any information on this. I have a Mac Pro with 4 internal HDDs. In bay #1 I have Mac os X 10.6 installed and in Bay #2 I have OSX 10.4. I wanted to finally install boot camp so I partitioned HDD#2 to 32GB using boot camp assistant. Well, afterwards, I printed up the installation instructions for windows and read that if you are going to 'install boot Camp on a disk that isn't in the first Hard drive bay,' you have to 'remove the drives in the lower number bays'.
My question is, what happens when you didn't remove the hard drives from the lower numbered bays and should I continue with the installation or back out somehow. Please advise...

Thanks in advance.

In order too install Windows, the HD with Boot Camp has to be in Bay #1. You can always put it back in the original bay after installation.

Personal experience. Windows wipes out the OSX partition in the earlier numbered bays. Pull the drives.

Thanks. It was too problematic trying to install boot camp (couldn't get the drivers off the OSX 10.6 dvd) so I used Boot Camp assistant and got rid of the windows partition. Thanks for the info.
