Resolved Bootcamp Obstacle

Is there any way for me to bootcamp if my ODD is attached to the sata connector on the board? From what I've read, it seems that this would render it unbootable and will prevent me from installing windows from the dvd. Any way to overcome this? I do have a usb dvd drive if that's of any help.

Well you can quickly test to see if the OD is bootable by inserting a bootable disc (Windows or OS X installation disc for example). Hold ALT at boot time and select the disc.

Thanks for the suggestion mate but it didn't work. I came across the solution rather by accident a few minutes ago and have got it working. Using refit and an external dvd drive.
