Bootcamp Partition problems for XP/Vista

ok. so i updated to the new Mac Pro firmware (1.1) now I can install windows with my 23" ACD and X1900XT. Yay.

Now onto a new problem.

I installed Bootcamp 1.1.2 awhile back.
Ran Bootcamp Assistant
Setup a 32gig partition for XP.
Restarted to start installation

All loads fine until the partition selection screen.

I select my 32 gigabyte partition to install XP onto. It tells me:

"To install Windows XP on the partition you selected, Setup must write some startup files to the following disk:"

Lists the 160gig drive ...

"However, this disk does not contain a Windows XP-compatible partition."

Seems the only way to get it to work is to delete the partition and install that way.. but that'll kill my OS X partition so not an option.

Anyone run into this problem before?

Seems I just can't get lucky at all with bootcamp.

I haven't done a BootCamp install myself (yet), but my first guess it 32GB happens to be the maximum size for a FAT partition.

Try a slightly smallar partition? Just a thought. I'll be interested to see if that's it.

I'm hoping to get to play with BootCamp very soon - waiting on a 17" MBP C2D.

Well the XP install let's you reformat after you select the partition. So it sounds like it's just not setting the partition up properly for XP to recognize it.
