Hi all, this is a quick question that could probably be answered quickly;

I have a 2009 2.26Ghz Mac Pro 8Core, 32GB Ram, GTX770...

I have the original 640GB HDD with OSX Mavericks installed, but I also have a 2TB SSHD with Windows 7 Bootcamp. I am about to purchase another 2TB SSHD to replace the ageing 640GB and fresh install Mavericks. If I do this, will I lose my bootcamp even know its on another HD? Or will it be fine and still work?

Thanks in advance.

Reformatting and moving your OS X hard drive will have absolutely no effect on your Boot Camp hard drive, unless you were to make a mistake and erase the drive or something like that. You should be totally fine performing the upgrade, though if you're concerned, just pull the Boot Camp hard drive out of the system while you're doing the formatting. Good luck!

AFAIK you should be fine as long as you are mindful of which drive you are installing/restoring Mac OS when you get your new drive.

Unless you have installed some custom bootloader arrangement (most of us have not), your MacOS and Windows drives do not depend on each other to boot. If you we're to remove your MacOS drive completely, your computer should still boot into Windows just fine. Just be careful to not accidentally overwrite your Bootcamp drive when reinstalling MacOS.
