I've installed Bootcamp 1.1 on my Mac Pro and it was surprisingly straight forward (much better than the Parallels beta which locked my computer solid *twice* when trying to install XP requiring a reboot on both occasions). The ATI graphics card works fine and it's pretty speedy on the whole. I'm getting good transfer rates as well.

One problem: sound. I've got the Realtek drivers installed. Any sound that Windows emits comes from the internal speaker at the front. My speakers, connected to the 3.5mm port at the back (the non-optical one) are silent.

The Apple FAQs say that this issue is fixed in 1.1 Beta. Not for me it isn't!

Anyone else have the same problems? Is there a solution?

dont get me started on the 1.1 drivers- they were worthless for me. i am still trying to deal with the ethernet issue i am not even to the sound issue yet.

Just got my Mac Pro today and I've had the same problem. Tried to open the Audio HD settings and even windows XP settings w/o luck to change it.

Really annoying when you play games :( it should be a driver problem. Haven't tried to DL a RealTek driver yet (Got 3Kbyte/s from their homepage so i gave up :(

I've managed to get Boot Camp running on my Mac Pro with X1900 and a 1920x1200 monitor by some weird voodoo, but I'm also getting this "audio out the front only" problem. Any updates much appreciated.

I use the digital audio out with no problems. I can't turn off the internal speaker, however, so just lower the volume to zero. (Digital out is unaffected.)

I don't like that internal speaker even on the mac side, so I muted it in mac os and its never once emitted a peep on the windows side.

:D

if you goto the device manager you might be able to disable it

The Sounds and Audio devices control panel doesn't seem to affect anything. Anyone have luck? I need to turn off the internal speakers of my MacBook Pro, and keep the headphones working.

I'm using v1.1.1 on a MacBook Pro and have no problems at all controlling the audio. When I plug in my external speakers -- or a headset -- the internal (onboard) speakers are silenced, just as things are supposed to work in Windows.

Is there a particular sound you're needing to mute?

I'm having a similar sort of problem with GF's 17" iMac C2D - the mac driver install disk didn't seem to install any audio drivers at all - windows doesn't see an audio device of any kind. Tried reinstalling the drivers a few times but no luck. Reckon i should try digging out some realtek drivers?

Same thing

I can't get the friggin drivers for the realtek to install at all! It just aborts the installation and say thet i need to install the "microsoft bus driver" before i install the realtek driver. weird...can't figure out what that is.

Can't get the on board sound to work at all on the mac pro, which makes it difficult to play games.

Any advice? This is so annoying
