So I was using Bootcamp assistant and after formatting the flash drive and copying win files it is now downloading the windows support software, but it is taking a long time. How large is the file? I am not on a particularly fast internet connection but it has been over an hour and the progress bar hasn't moved. Assuming the file is 600mb it should've taken it about 20-30min on my connection, but the progress bar hasn't moved at all.

If i click on stop will it cancel the whole process or just the download. If it only cancels the download then can i download the files again later?(if yes then from where)

Thanks

It took me some time to download it as well. Watching the download speed using iStat only showed it was downloading at 1MB/s for me when I have a 40Mbit connection.

The folder it saves for me was 1.08GB.

I've been trying for three days to download the Windows Support Software to my MBPr. As with the OP, it's like watching paint dry. If the progress bar moves at all, it's almost impossible to spot. At least a dozen times, I've had a message telling me that due to net work problems, the download has stopped. Next time I start the download, it starts from zero again. I'm wasting my download allocation on this. If it's about 1gb, it should take about three hours on my broadband connection. The longest I've managed to continue with the download is six hours and the progress bar wasn't even halfway.

Is there another way of getting this download? It can't be my system. All other downloads are as fast as they normally are.

If you are using a 3rd Party DNS Server try using your default from your ISP. I had issues with downloading from iTunes because I was using either Google's DNS or OpenDNS. Sometimes a lot of traffic gets routed through those DNS servers and can slow down your download speeds.

I have the same problem, so I searched in google and I found this thread. No answer was found but to actually download it.
So I did.
Once it was done, I signed up on this forum to give it out with what I think will be a faster download, whithout any inernet connection problems!
I downloaded the whole thing, zipped it, and uploaded it to my dropbox.
I would upload it to mediafire, wouldn't it been for that I can't upload such a big file with a free user.

Anyways, I am uploading the file now. Takes about 2 hours or so. When it's done, I will update this post with the downloadlink!

Don't worry, it doesn't cointain Trojans, RAT's, JDB, Worms or any other virus.
I zipped it once it was done, test it for virus if you want.
