My brother was saying its not officially supported, but does this mean it doesn't work? 7 is very similar to Vista, so I'm assuming it at least runs, but probably even runs well.

It works perfectly, the only problem I have is that aero is not wokring for me but i guess i have to look for the updated drivers.

Officially, Apple does not support it. So, if something goes wrong, you are by yourself. However, it will work and work well.

Have you installed Apple drivers using the Leopard Install DVD and NVidia drivers (if you have a NVidia card)?

I installed Windows 7 Ultimate yesterday and everything runs flawlessly........ well, almost everything.

I decided to try a DVD movie and I got some BS message telling me I need to get some sort of DVD player/software in order to watch a DVD. what freakin' kind of Windows BS/nonsense is that?

and yet one more reason why I love my Mac/OSX so much. ;)

The hardware can easily support it.

It's Apple's lack of drivers that are the main problem, but this should be fixed with Snow Leopard/Boot Camp 3.0. As it is right now, the drivers work well enough, but are very outdated.

Just a quick question, will you need to go out and get a copy of Snow Leopard to get the Bootcamp 3.0 drivers, or should they automatically update using Apple Software Update, I personally am planning on getting snow leopard, as who can pass up an OS at $30. Still, just wondering about whether the Bootcamp will update, or if they will require a purchase of Snow Leopard. Also, is it known whether the $30 applies to Canada as well? Also, has there been any news on if the Bootcamp 3.0 beta drivers are working any better?

My best guess is that Boot Camp 3.0 will be released concurrently with Snow Leopard, on the Snow Leopard DVD. We already know that early builds have been included with Snow Leopard seeds. I further hypothesize that Apple will not be releasing it as a download for Leopard users since Apple previously made Boot Camp a feature of Leopard, with the beta versions that came with Tiger having expiration dates. Since Apple wants every Intel user to upgrade to Snow Leopard, Boot Camp 3.0 with official Windows 7 support is just another incentive to do so. Who knows, I could be wrong.

These are all very good questions, unfortunately we have no idea yet though. If history is to be understood, Boot Camp 3.0 will be on the Snow Leopard DVD, and this will be the only way to get BC 3.0. But who knows, that could change, although I wouldn't hold my breath.

That would be horrible if true. You shouldn't be forced to upgrade
OS X in order to upgrade your Mac's Windows driver collection.

Vista to Windows 7

I am running Vista Home Premium in boot camp right now and it works great. My question is: Will I have to buy a full version of Windows 7 to install it into boot camp or can I use an upgrade version of Windows 7?

Thanks. I was Just wondering because I couldn't upgrade from XP to Vista in Boot Camp. I had to buy a full version of Vista for Boot Camp to work.
