Sorry I know this is probably a stupid question. I'm about to set up windows 7 on my iMac. I've recently updated to Snow leopard. My question is once I have windows 7 installed do I have to use the snow leopard disk, or the disk that came with my computer to load drivers?
Thanks

I can't get snow leopard, bootcamp and Windows 7 to work. I get all the way done with the Windows 7 install (using the RTM version as I have an MSDN subscription) and when the machine reboots windows hangs and will not start up.

Any hints?

This is going in a mac mini.

Hi,

try booting multiple times from the Windows 7 install DVD. After 2 or 3 starts from the DVD and finishing the install it finally worked. (but after installing Bootcamp 3.0 from my SL DVD now I get a bluescreen seconds after the Desktop is there) Without Bootcamp it worked ...

when I put in the Sl disc, a screen comes up asking if I want to install DVD/CD sharing. Nothing about boot camp. Do I have to manual navigate somewhere?

How to install Snow Leopard if Windows 7 already running?

I installed Windows 7 a month ago and all's well with going back and forth via Bootcamp between Windows and Mac.

I just purchased Snow Leopard and I don't want to have to reinstall Windows 7 and the misc apps running under it.

I'm looking for some reassurance that the install won't touch the Windows partition or cause other problems like noted here:

Any guidance appreciated!

Are the 64bit drivers easily accessible this time? Like for a unibody Macbook and not for only the machines Apple designated as 64bit Windows capable.

I have to go into each folder and look for the 64bit drivers. That is the only way I can install the drivers. It was telling me my MBP was not capable.

Windows 7 on Snow Leopard

I have just installed Windows 7 RC on my old white MacBook using boot camp after recently upgrading to Snow Leopard.

After the installer rebooted my machine into Windows 7, I immediately installed the boot camp drivers from my Snow Leopard disc. I continued using Windows 7 for the rest of the day and rebooted when I got home.
I was greeted with the Windows 7 startup repair utility instead of the Windows desktop.

Now whenever I try to boot up into Windows, it tries to start up normally for a bit, but then flashes to a blue screen and loads the startup repair utility which is useless.

Interestingly, I also have a faster machine which had been running Windows 7 through parallels before the upgrade to Snow Leopard. Now upgraded to Snow Leopard, the virtual machine got the same problem, but parallels restarted it a few times until it booted normally. Now I have no problems with the virtual machine.

Is there any thing that I can do to the boot camp partition to make it boot up normally? Maybe something that parallels did?

The SL Bootcamp 3.0 drivers are allegedly not supported on 64-bit Windows on early Intel Mac's, which is why you don't see the option when you insert your SL disk. You can get them to install by looking for the installation file on the SL DVD - if you do a search you'll find a thread or two on exactly how to do it.

Same exact issue here. Did you ever figure out a way to resolve this, Bevster?

No, not yet. Does anyone have any ideas? Cause this is really bugging me as I have to use XP instead :(

Maybe the full version of windows 7 doesn't have this problem?

I've stopped using same installation for Vmware and bootcamp, simply because the bootcamp drivers and vmware tolls was interfering, at least that what I think is the problem.

I have win7 (still the rc, haven't bought the full version yet) and it runs pretty decent. I do use the bootcamp 3.0 drivers.

For all those who use vmware or parallels, try make a really small xp installation, like tinyXP to use in your virtual machine. It's so much faster than a full installation and takes up way less resources.
