Hey, i followed the directions in bootcamp, let it do its thing by creating Windows 7 jump drive with my iso file. and update all the files, etc and when it reboots all it says is "No bootable device found, insert and then press enter" or something like that. I tried it twice and both times this happened. I don't have a CD Drive nor do i want to buy one. so does anyone have any ideas ?

I have this exact same problem.
I did install windows 7 a few weeks ago but then i removed it, now when I'm trying to install it again I'm getting this problem, i don't know if they are related or not but its very annoying.
Please let me know if you find a way to work around this.

Same here. Can't install windows 7 and get the same error message. Same thing happened with the mac book air. Any ideas?

I tried to install W7 32 & 64bit using bootcamp in the 2011 mini twice. I keep getting the black screen after partitioning > restart. I tried looking for a fix on Apple's support but don't see any.
I used a Samsung external optical drive. It has installed Sims3 so maybe it's a Lion OS issue? Or hardware issue?

Well boot camp does the partition so I don't think its us doing it incorrectly.

Just skipped the fist step on the mini mac boot camp and it installed with no problems what so ever. Used an 8mb sd card which formatted fine.

I had a problem with the Mac mini 2011 installing windows 7 ent. Every time I followed the steps of Bootcamp. And of course, restarted it and start setup of win7. And format the BOOTCAMP partition to use NTFS. But I get always the error "Can't install Windows 7 because the 1 and only drive in it, uses GPT mapping" So there came Windows 8 BETA. I wanted to install windows 8 BETA and it worked! But I wasn't satisfied with a beta. So I tried now to install Windows 7. Now it didn't pronounce a error. And it just installed Win 7.
I thought if I posted this it will maybe a solution to someone else !?

Make windows image in mac disk utility then convert to .iso file , then copy to ur mac desktop , connect external HDD ,open ur boot camp utility choose the USB installation give the path to external USB ... this will work sureee

If trying to install windows and get the "no bootable drive found"....
Use a different USB drive! If that doesn't work keep trying until you find one that works.
I first tried a 2.5" hard drive in a USB caddy and didn't work, then tried an 8gb PNY USB micro stick, didn't work. Finally got it working with a 4gb Kingston Data Traveller drive.
Note that 4gb is fine, you don't need 8gb as some people state. It just means you can't load the mac bootcamp support drivers as well as windows to the USB stick, you first have to make it a bootable windows disk, install windows, format the USB, go back into OSX and download the support software to the now empty USB!

I was in the same situation and had tried 2 USB drives with absolutely zero success. In both cases, I got the dreaded error 0x80300024. Then I picked my portable Hard Drive (200 GB 2.5"), connected with USB, waited nervously and.... everything went smoothly.
