Bootcamp XP re-install

I have Windows XP installed but its getting slow so i wanna reinstall it.

Can i just insert the xp cd, then format and reinstall windows ?

Or how should i do this ?

Use the boot camp assistant again.

1) Launch Boot Camp Assistant, remove the Windows XP partition.
2) Quit and relaunch BCA, add the partition again.
3) Insert XP disc when prompted, go through its install process, install the Boot Camp drivers with the Leopard disc, install Boot Camp 2.1 if going to Service Pack 3.

Yes, you can do this. Boot from the Windows XP CD, then go from there. I would do a regular format and not a quick format when you get to that point of the install process.

Others in this thread have recommended redoing the BootCamp partition. You can do this, but not needed if all you want to do is reinstall Windows.

Both methods work but using the XP installation to format the drive is quicker/easier. Just make sure that you select the correct partition to format as you will be able to destroy your OS X one from that screen.

Definitely need to make sure the correct partition is selected before formating the partition.

Just in case I decide to do this down the road, you would:

Reboot the Mac with the XP disc in the drive,
Reformat the partition that currently has XP installed
Reinstall XP normally, then
Insert the Leopard disk to get the correct drivers and Boot Camp tools

Is this correct?
