I have a first gen Aluminum iMac C2D 20". The quality of the lcd is fairly bad compared to my Apple Cinema Display.

Is there anyway I can make the external monitor the primary screen for my iMac and use the iMac's monitor as the secondary screen? I tried to fiddle around with the display settings in system preferences but couldn't find anything on how to do that. Thanks.

Yes.

Just drag the menu bar over in the Displays panel under arrangement.

It states that right there, did you read it?

"To relocate the menu bar, drag it to a different display."
