Hav a iMac 27, worked fine yesterday, shut it down last nite and today when I turn in on, it goes to the log-in screen (didnt' before). So I enter my password, (no changes) and it says logging in, then goes to a light blue screen, then a slightly darker blue and then back to the log-in page. I did the power off, unplugged, start with the Option, Command and P and R keys pressed with all the same result.
I put in the ios disk to try to boot from that but it just give the black curtain coming down and the box saying your computer needs to be restarted.
I am in the windows 7 portion as I type this. When I start I have the option key pushed and the choices are Mac, Windows or iOS install disk. Windows is the only thing that works....
Note, we did not change any passwords...
Thanks..

Also..it sounds as if the HD is doing something all the time...a continuous 1-2 type beat....

Have you tried any of these steps?
