Picked it up earlier this morning, and it seems really cool so far. It connects to facebook and automatically pulls down your friends and all their info. You can post to twitter from it as well. You basically earn achievements for things that you do in real life and then you can compare against friends etc.

Description from the app page below:

Booyah Society is the first social game based on real-life achievements.

- Experience Facebook and Twitter in 3D
- Get Rewards for your Activities (get credit for posting and getting comments on Facebook and Twitter!)
- Build your own 3D avatar that will change and evolve with you
- The World's First Achievement System for Life
- Follow Booyah Moments all over the world on our social map
- Celebrate you and your friends' achievements

I tried it out... It seemed to be inconsistent with posting the achievements/posts on Facebook. Also, the achievements seemed really easy... It could take off but I deleted it within five minutes and will try it again at another time...

There are some great ideas here but it's really gimped in it's current form

for instance, all the achievements are based on writing little notes about various things you've done in various categories, but the notes themselves are given little to no exposure. There doesn't appear to be any way to view a friends notes (you can see their achiements but not what they wrote to get them), even if they're marked public. I can't even find a way to read your own full notes. You can go to the calendar and read them there but if they're longer than a few lines it just cuts the rest off with no mention of a character limit on the text entry screen.

The idea of achievements for real live activities is CRAZY AWESOME!

Unfortunately, they've done it wrong.

It seems like 2/3 of the achievements require people to post comments about what you've done, or at least care. Nobody is going to write three comments about how I did the dishes or ran a mile.

The concept definitely needs improvement.

Yeah the concept is awesome but the execution is wonky. My girlfriend was just commenting on how she would love to be able to get trophies for non-gaming things like surfing the internet or watching Blu-Rays on our PS3. She's not much of a gamer but it would probably make her like the console better.

The alien guy you make seems to have nothing to do with anything... If it were me making the app I would make the achievements a little more difficult and require approval.

For instance, "Saw 3 movies over the weekend" could be one and to get the achievement, you have to post pictures of the tickets or "Cosplayed at Comicon" could be another and you have to submit a picture of your ticket and of yourself in costume. If the dev didn't want to pay to have mods doing the approvals, it seems like this could be community regulated...

Also, I found that when I got an entertainment achievement for posting about playing Wii Sports Resort, only the achievement posted to Facebook. My post was nowhere to be found other than on the calendar which is kind of dumb too. Who needs a monthly view? Just put them in order by date...
