Me and a friend purchased the Borderlands GOTY edition from the app store with the intent of playing online with each other. When either one of us tried to host a game, the game would start up and load normally but would then get to the multiplayer loading screen and be stuck there until the host restarted his computer. Afterwards, I read that in order to be able to host a game we would have to forward our ports. I was able to forward a port but I am still unable to host a borderlands game using gameranger. Is there anything that I may have done wrong or forgotten to do? Do both of us need to have our ports forwarded?
Some Basic Information:
- I have a Linksys e4200 router.
- I set the start and end ports at 1600.
- I enabled the port.
- I set the ip address as the local ip of my macbook pro.
- My mac firewall is disabled and my router firewall is disabled too. Attempts to host games with both disabled have ended with failure.
- Me and him are able to join games without a problem.
