The Misty Mountains
Boaderlands is coming out this fall for consol and PC. It's looking OUTSTANDING. It has visual elements that make a post apocalyptic landscape look outstanding, something that Fallout 3 is lacking and it includes 4 player Coop but I'm not sure if that is multiplayer or it is coop in the solo story (if there is one). It received a cover story in the June 09 PCGamer. I'm excited about this game! :D

From the Borderlands FAQ:
What is Borderlands?
Borderlands is an upcoming sci-fi FPS game with 4-player co-op. It has RPG elements and boasts half a million weapons.

What platforms will Borderlands be available on?
PC, XBOX 360, and PS3

Yes, its a great game. Played it for about 3 days now, and its one of a kind. If you enjoyed the Quake games, or even Half Life 2, and want something out of the ordinary with an Unreal Tournament (multiplayer) feel, get this game.

You won't be less than amazed.

I lost a friend to mine to this, got addicted to it just like he did back on Half Life 1. Apparently it's good but it doesn't sound like my kind of thing. I don't really trust games that have to rely on marketting itself as having "a billion guns".
My friend says its very buggy so I'm waiting on a patch until I give it a proper go.

Amazing, end dissappointing

This is a great (Xbox 360) game. I beat it yesterday. It get a bit repetitive/addicting but overall worth the buy, especially with a friend for coop.

I've noticed no bugs on the 360 version, fyi

The PC version is extremely buggy, has problems with dual core support and many users are reporting a complete failure of the game to actually run at all. I've had lots of problems with it.

sorry - i cannot sign this.

i play borderlands on my pc. Now at level 27 i have sometimes a crash to desktop when switching the areas, but only sometimes.

that ist the only bug i found.

The problems seem to be hardware related, and they haven't protected the memory so it's easily hackable (on the PC, I don't know if there are tools to hack it on the Xbox).

Im getting horrible graphic glitches running this on my iMac (Ati 2600hd) via bootcamp... Anyone else able to run this error free on the same card as mine?

As I recall in a PC Gamer article, something along the lines of, the graphic look in the game originally was used in the development of the game was not intended for the final product. But then they decided to use it. I think it is a great look making BLs look much better than another post apocalyptic world, Fallout 3, although in BLs so far I not seen anything indicating post apocalyptic, just an alien planet composed of desert environment with small patched together settlements.

I am wanting to ask for this game for Christmas. Would you say the better overall gaming experience is on the PC or the 360? I never use my 360, so 1 more game I HAVE to play on it would be nice. haha... Plus I don't have to tax my system playing the game... I tax it enough with Aion and WoW. :D

It's meant to be 'alright' on console, but 'great' on PC - so I'd go the PC route if I were you and your system can handle it.

I might wait and see if it makes it onto the Mac.

I've not played the game on a PC, but it works great on the 360 and it would give you an excuse to crank the 360 up. ;) Can anyone say how is the DRM on the PC version of the game?

Not to substantially veer the thread, but how do you like Aion as compared to WoW? I recently quit WoW and so far I'm staying entertained with BLs and DAO.

The Game is working fine via Crossover Games in Snow Leopard. Just a little slow on the 9400m ;)

Aion is a nice fresh piece of meat for me to sink my teeth into. I have only played a few brief sessions on bootcamp borrowing my friends account (hard to get him off the game so I can go on! haha). The character customization offered in Aion is a really nice touch. I played for 30 minutes alone modeling my character to what I wanted him to look like.

The UI isn't as customizable as WoWs (yet?)... which is a drawback for me. I have so many addons on WoW that it is almost a different game. haha. The combat style is pretty similar, I think. The environments are very nicely designed and is really the most drastic change from WoW.

Aside from this, I feel the real changes will be apparent once I start flying. If and when I ever get to play again. If I do decide to get my own Aion account, I will have to quit WoW. Not doling out 30$ a month between the two games.

Borderlands on a Mac

I'm playing this on my MacBook Pro and have found a couple of glitches. Same as the PC version, it sometimes crashes when moving from one area to the other. Also, the locator on several of the quest points to items that are not there or the items that don't work or allow interaction.

Way to resurrect a dead topic. Since you brought it up I have no problems with my version of BL.
