Borderlands Players

I've played borderlands for a while now and I've gotten to the point of the game where I want to make duplicates of my characters.
I've read through some other forums and threads on how to do the duplication, but whenever I give it a whirl. I get nothing. Everything stays original and No copies. I've read that I would have to load up the Data file, select BorderlandsSaves.zip, copy it to the Desktop, Open it, Copy the files and save for backup, make a duplicate of the save0001 file. And after that I don't know. I've gotten that far. And Am wondering is there anything else I have to do after all that, or before it?

If anyone could show me the process I'd be greatly thankful.

My brothers have told me it is quite easy to do it on a PC, but Im a new Mac user and things are a little different.

Duplicating save games is exactly the same on PC and Mac. Just the location of the actual save files is different. On the Mac your save game folder is in ~/Library/Preferences/Feral Interactive/Borderlands (~is your home folder)

BorderlandsSaves.zip is a hidden 100% save game that I created and hid in the data. It contains a 100% complete first play-through save file (with and without DLC) the second playthrough has never been started so you can start playing from the beginning with a kick ass character. It features the Mordacai player (The Sniper) which was my favourite during development. This has nothing to do with duplication it just allows you to install a high level character easily.

If you want to create a new character from scratch you can start again from the main menu, if you want to backup your save game then you just make a copy of the preference save folder (I showed the location above). If you want to load someone else's save game then you backup your save001 file and replace it with the one you downloaded. As I mentioned there is one hidden in the Data image if you want to try the one we made.

If stuck I would read PC instructions for what you want to do but then do them to the Mac save game folder instead of the PC one. Your brother should be able to show you if you show him the location of your Mac save as the save format on Mac and PC is the same.
