Okay so I want to run windows xp with boot camp on my imac. The reason for this is just to play a couple of games. Now my question is can I just borrow a copy of xp from a friend or will the cd-key not let that work? Try to fight the urge to tell me to go and buy a copy. I just want to know if this would work.

Without fighting the urge to tell you to go buy a copy, you would be breaking EULA by doing this, so yes go buy a copy
Not only that but if the serial number is already registered, it will prompt you to call Microsoft.
