bose companion 2's destroying my HD?

just scroll through, i know the HD is on the the top center, here


if you go to that link, bose states that the speakers are magnetically shielded, so they wont destroy my screen (they wouldnt be able anyways), or screw up my HD, they have ONE driver in them, and thats packed with treble, bass, and oh, i forgot, amazing sound. if you look at the last pic, you can see the driver actually, but since the magnets in the speakers wont screw up the HD, wont the vibrations? my HD is making a cricket noise, and im thinking that maybe its from the vibrations of the BASS, who thinks this could be a possibility?

ok, i just used my bose companion 2's, i turned up the bass, MODERATELY high, my desk is vibrating ALOT from those little things that dont even have the bass on at max, i have a feeling that its destroying the HD, yet again, in the link in post 1, in the bose link, bose did say they are magnetically shielded, but yet once more, wouldnt the vibrations destroy my HD? please check out the pix of my imac to see where they are compared to my mac, i know where the HD is in it (upper center)

I don't think so i have been using a laptop on my desk for years and have had music playing with lot's of bass it doesn't destroy hard Drives my guess is you just got a bad one. Call apple.

its just making cricket sounds occasionally. i did the apple hardware test, i did the extended testing, it didnt detect anything, and would apple hardware test detect if there is a problem with my HD better than techtool deluxe that came with my apple care protection? which is more reliable, cuz right now im afraid that one day i will lose all my stuff, im hoping to get an external HD this week, i know which one, its that western digital one with a 750GB drive or something, i know for sure it has 750GB

Yeah, It could be dying you probably only hear it sometimes because the hard Drive only spins when it needs to.

ok, but which is more reliable, apple hardware test, or techtool deluxe? would they even detect if this cricket sound is a problem?

just got off the phone with apple support, apple hardware test is more reliable, and apparently my HD is damaged, i contacted my local apple store, they said that they would only fix it if there is a problem that they see. and if they find a problem, they can replace it with a hard drive of the same amount of space, its an apple policy that they cant install a hard drive more than the space is was before, only an apple reseller can do that. if the 500GB HD starts to shrink up on me, ill get a bigger HD, and bring it into an apple reseller, but for right now, im fine. now i really need that external HD for use with time machine just in case my imac is REALLY dead.

but im glad to say the apple lady from apple support was very nice. but the man in the apple store didnt even know the type of HD the imac had, i had to go check for my self

Mine are close enough to almost but not touch the ALiMac and I have no issues.

Mine are Bose and look like yours but not sure where the base adjustment is... it is a two speaker system no base unit.
