ThinkSecret has a story up about the lack of a MacWorld in Boston, and the possibility of no MacWorld Expo (or whatever they rename it to) on the East Coast at all.

Of interesting note: Since the departure of IDG World Expo president Charlie Greco -- who was not a big fan of Apple chief executive Steve Jobs -- the company's new chief executive, David Korse, has improved relations between the two companies, but has taken a ‘we’ll-survive-without-‘em’ approach. Since his arrival almost two months ago, Korse has already navigated the company away from its dependence on Expo and CreativePro events and will be concentrating much of its efforts on finding new sources of revenue. “Korse believes the company can’t be dependent on Apple and what they want to do,” said a company source. “He wants to chart a different course that says, ‘Do what you want Apple, but we’ll survive with or without you.’"
