Hi guys,

today I tried to buy an iPhone SE (2016) from local Ebay (like craigslist). At home I during iCloud restore from my old iPhone SE (display broken), I noticed that it doesn't charge and it shut off during the process (battery empty).

The private seller took it back and gave me my money back - so far so good. He said, the charging problem was somehow known (duh). If he is able to fix it, can he get access to anything? I input my fingerprint and iCloud data to restore there iCloud backup from my old device. I don't know in what state the "new" phone is right now since it shut off prematurely. I guess he cannot do anything without fingerprint or password, but I'm not sure.

It was in the process of updating to iOS 13.6 when it shut off.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

He wont be able to see or make use of your password or fingerprint, if it did input correctly. Once the phone is turned back on, he would need to know your phone passcode and iCloud password to do anything. Since he doesn’t have that information and doesn’t have access to it with the phone, you are ok. If it makes you feel better, you can change your iCloud Apple ID password.

Update:
The seller contacted me this morning. He said, he sold and shipped the phone already and needs the unlock code.
Since it shut off fairly quickly back then, I was not able to factory reset/erase it at that time. Now obviously he has repaired it.

He said, when I remove the phone from my wife's iCloud account it is automatically erased. I don't think so since the "where is my Phone" function was NOT activated before (because in the iCloud backup I was in the process of restoring it wasn't active and I did not get so far as to change the setting).

Long story short - his loss? I don't want to give my wife's password to that guy...

Edit:
He suggested a site called https://iunlocker.com/faq.php to delete the iPhone...wtf?
