Bottom Buttons on Keyboard Dont Work

.. its weird i dont know why but i'm gonna try to explain my problem.

when i'm sending a txt message, or writing a note, or anything when the keyboard on the iphone the space, .?1234 amnd the return button do not work in horizontal mode.. when i push on the button it only hits the nearst letter above it, )(such as z x c v ect))

but when the iphone is longways the bottoms work fine..
i figured maybe the bottom screen dosnt work anymore, but thats not the case when i am not in txt mode, everything works on the lower half of the screen..

i just did a system restore, and i'm having the same problem...

i bought the iphone a couple months after they first released it, if thats any help, i bought it at the ATT store, and i doubt i still have the reciet for it...

what can i do? what are my options? my friend said his iphone broke (i dont know exactly what happand) but he said he went down to the apple store (where he originally bought it) and they replaced it no questions asked.. idf i went to the apple store do you think its passable for me to get a replacement??

the condition of the iphone is a little beat up, as i've dropped it a few times since i've had it but i do not think that would be the problem?

IF you can recreate the problem and you did not jail brake your phone just book an appointment with your local genius bar and they will try to fix or replace. The genius bar is usually quite good at these things.

would that still aply to me if i DID NOT buy it from the apple store??
and i DO NOT have a recite?

and how do i book an apointment? just call in or can i do it online??

Yes you can still take it to the Apple Store. I don't think you need a receipt but I may be wrong.
