Hi.
The bottom cover of my 2020 MacbookPro M1 makes a squeaking noise when I press it around the middle. I’ve read in old vintages that it was common, but do new machines do it? Disappointment. Does anyone have experience with it?
Would you check it out?
Thanks

Why do you feel a need to press around the middle bottom of your Mac? That isn't really something that one would normally do.
Because sometimes I transfer from one place to another (mobile device) with my right hand. Is that understandable?

My work-issued 2016 15" MacBook Pro developed the "underside squeak" in early 2020 after a long day of constantly running hot. I always figured the heat had caused the bottom panel / fasteners to deform just a little bit, allowing it to flex and squeak when carried on a palm.

It never did stop squeaking when lifted in that particular way, though it also never got worse or failed or anything. Plastic creaks, aluminum squeaks. It still did the job.

I have a similar issue, and it is becoming very annoying.

When I use the laptop on my laps, I hear this noise all the time. In fact, to avoid it, I absolutely need to have the laptop resting on its feet on a flat desk. It sounds like a purely mechanical noise, where some parts are maybe too tightly adjusted, and others not quite so tightly so, creating a very small amount of friction/deformation, hence the noise. Anyway, this is a stupid yet annoying problem.

Has anybody found a solution ? I am wondering whether adjusting slightly the bottom screws or something like this would help.

I don't have any information about the problem, but taking off the bottom panel and re-seating it can't hurt. You'll need a pentalobe screwdriver but they're cheap on Amazon.

I sure will; I am travelling without my tools so I have not had the chance to do it quite yet. It is really annoying, although not quite as bad as in the video posted by @pesho (it is a bit like this, just less intense a noise).
