Bottom is stuck/won't turn

Has anyone ever had difficulty getting the bottom off, mine won't turn.

They can be pretty stiff.

Don't press down on it and turn in the correct direction (see markings). It only turns a very small distance to be unlocked.

First time yes it took me a second to turn it. But after that it becomes a lot easier

The cover doesn't need to be turned far, just 1cm anticlockwise.

I've had this very problem since day one with my 2012 mini.
I solved it with a little quicky homemade wrench, (see attached photo)
Just put the round screw heads into the mini's finger holes on the cover, apply just enough pressure to keep them seated and turn the wrench until the dots line up.
Works every time.
