Hey,

I just bought a MacBook Air 2.13GHz with the 128GB SSD on eBay with an unopened external MBA DVD drive for $1450. The seller said the MacBook Air had just been used one time for a trade show. They were selling it packed in the original box with a brand new, unopened MBA disc drive with it. It's shipping now via UPS and should arrive here tomorrow. Do you think I got a good deal? Apple is selling the refurb unit for $1549 and the drive is another $99. So do you think I got a good deal on this or not?

It's not a bad price, but not a great one either. I paid about $1300 over 6 months ago for a nearly new (had 1 charging cycle on it when I purchased it) MacBook Air 2.13 with SSD, the SuperDrive, and the 3-year AppleCare warranty (received the AppleCare warranty transfer paperwork about 1 week later from Apple). Everything arrived packaged perfectly as if I just bought it from the Apple store. However, that was awhile ago and I'd imagine a similar deal could be found nowadays for even cheaper.

If the condition and use information is true, I don't think this is too bad. I paid $1549 for a refurb almost 1 year ago. And I had to buy the super drive.

Hi. I am new to Macrumors. I have a chance to buy a brand new (sealed) MBA 1.86 ghz, 128 gb ssd, nvidia graphics for $1225. Is this a good deal or should I wait until Oct/Nov for a refresh? Your thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

I sold mine, same setup, for $1350 a few weeks ago, no Apple care of external so I'd say you did alright.

I have a decision on this by the end of the weekend. It would be great if someone can help me out. Thanks in advance.

The MacBook Air came in on Thursday and I wanted to report, it's mint without a scratch on it! Like brand new! And only 11 cycles on the battery, so it's very fresh indeed. The optical drive came sealed and unopened in its box, and it came with a new Incase black carrying case. So I think this was a good deal. The unit is very fresh and just like new, I really like this Air@!
