I got a new iPod nano to give as a gift to someone and I want to put some audiobooks on it before I give the gift. Can I do this without the recipients iTunes try and delete it since it will be coming from my library? The book was a download from another site with no DRM so will it still try and replace the ipods library with the new owners when she plugs it in? any way to avoid that?

Help would be appreciated!

You could buy it, put it on their iPod, then when they sync it, it will ask if you want to transfer purchased songs etc. It will then transfer it on to her library, but you will need to authorise their computer to play you purchased media
