Bought A Used MacBook Pro & I can't restore IS X 10.8

I recently purchased a used 2007 MacBook Pro 13". I was informed that the hard drive had been formatted in a system recovery for me.

When I turn my computer on, its just a page called OS X Utilities. I have the option to Restore From Time Machine, Reinstall OS X, Get Help Online, & Disk Utility.

When I chose to select Reinstall OS X, and enter in my Apple ID, it informs me that I have not purchased OS X on this account.

How do I purchase and install OS X on this computer? Is there a way I can put it on a USB and install it from there?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Apologies if this has already been answered.

You are going to need to get on another Mac and use your AppleID in the App Store app to purchase Mountain Lion. After the purchase you can just stop the download if you like. Then go back to your machine and when prompted enter your AppleID and it will DL and install the OS.

Or you can complete the DL on the other machine, then use this free app with a 8GB USB key to make yourself an installer.

If you cannot in any way access another Mac, your last option would be to buy Snow Leopard from Apple for $20 at 1800MYAPPLE. Then install Snow Leopard form the DVD, then after that use the App Store from within Snow Leopard to buy and install Mountain Lion.

There is no such thing as a 2007 MacBook Pro 13" 2007.......

It sounds as if it has an OSX 10.7 Lion restore partition on the hard drive which is where the problems begin - it may or may not be able to run Mountain Lion (OSX 10.8) which is the only option on the App Store.....

Run the serial number of the machine through the Apple Support website to check what this MacBook really is.....
