Basically, I'm trying to figure out how if the batteries in my current Airpods will be useable in a year and a half or two years. I don't have much interest in the new Airpods features added in the new model, but I would like to top off the charging case on my wireless charging pad at work...

Had my Gen 1 since launch. Battery was getting very bad. Upgraded to the new ones. My experience is that ‘s claim of faster switching between devices is true. Haven’t done a true comparison on sound quality, but I am thrilled with connection and switching speed. That is enough for me.
