I just got a brand new MBA SSD for med school, but now I want something to protect this bad boy. I have been looking at the Vaja cases for some time, but I have only heard reviews for the iVolution cases which I do not want. Any one have experience with any of the other MBA cases?

If you do, please share your insight...and photos would help.

Thanks

Alex

I have the leather suit and I love it. Some of my coworkers say its makes a thin laptop fat, but people all the time mistake it for a leather writting pad cover. Top notch workmanship! You do pay for it though.

I would say a "8". It wont protect against any serious drops but it will protect it from day to day scratches. The inside of the case is lined with velvet and it is padded.

The suite might help from a drop, but it would depend on the fall. What I like about it is its real easy to grip. I find the naked MBA is kind of hard to handle.

Any one have any thoughts or experience with the classic retro slim jacket or the classic folder?

Thanks the responses are great.

I just have a full body InvisibleShield on mine and, I love it. My backpack has a notebook pouch in it and, I just pull my MBA out whenever I need it. Knowing that it's protected from the little scratches is comforting--especially after the things that happened to my 12" G4 Powerbook.

Also congrats on Med School!

Vaja attache

I really like vaja cases. I got an envelope a while back. However, I just looked and they have a new attache case. I really like that because there is room for the power cords, usb, etcc. The problem is the price: $650.
But I have traveled with my MBA in just a sleeve, and I am afraid of drops.
so I might bite the bullet... Anybody have a look at the attache? opinions?

What is the envelope? Is it for the macbook air?

Nice case, but not worth $650 IMHO. That's a rip off.

Yeah, 650 is crazy though. Unless you also bought "I am rich" haha

Not really. These cases are custom made for you. The leather and craftsmanship are great. You can choose hundreds of different color combonations. I paid 600.00 for my current Hartmann laptop bag.

I would agree with you on a questionable quality bag with LV's on the outside selling for 1K.

The only thing you do need to consider is this is a custom case. The case will outlive the laptop and when it comes time to replace the laptop, the new one might not fit.

You get what you pay for!

Vaja attache

I agree with the above poster. Next year, or whenever the "new" air comes out, I'll want that one. And I will have spent A LOT on a no longer useful case. Such as with the iphone. I bought so many accessories for that phone, and now they are all in a drawer with the phone itself! The only thing that is useable from that experience is the car-charger!

Its a tough call. That attache would fit all of my traveling needs, but the price? Well I just don't know!
