Question is the same as in the Subject/Heading of the thread. Bought Ipad Air(5th gen) for wife+Apple Pencil 2, trade in Ipad Air 2 or Ipad 6th Gen? I want to keep one of the Ipads for my use cases as quoted below.

I'm getting approximately the same tradein value from Apple for either Ipad.

Just looking at the specs it seems keep the Ipad 6th Gen is the right choice to keep and trade in the Air2?

Quoted below are some earlier posts of mine relevant to this question.

Thank you,

My wife is interested in the Ipad Air 5 as it has a bigger screen and more RAM than her current Ipad 6th gen because sometimes she uses multiple screens at the same time. Apple pencil use is a must. However, wanted to check if it is backward compatible with Apple Pencil 1 which she currently uses.

My use cases for Ipad are(when in bed, on the treadmill etc)
  1. Watching videos
  2. Ibook/Kindle
  3. websurfing

So far Ipad Air 2 works great for my needs. Ipad OS 15, does seem to make the Air 2 struggle in some narrow use cases(particularly heavy web pages reloading). No problems with Apple Apps such as Apple TV or Ibooks. Battery seems to be fine for it's age, i.e. lasts around 5+ hours with continuous Video use.

I tried watching a video in a smaller size window (Ipad mini size) and I realized I preferred the Ipad(big) screen size much better.
So, the larger screen works for me. Hence canceled my Ipad mini 6 order.

Keep the 6th gen and trade-in the Air 2 if you want to retain best performance at 9.7" size.

Also, 6th gen is the first non-Pro iPad to support the Apple Pencil (and cheaper alternatives such as the Logitech Crayon and Amazon/eBay/AliExpress Pencil knockoffs).
