Hey,
So i bought an iphone from a friend for $200 and when i put my sim in it, it wouldn't work. I googled up some info and found that it's probably blacklisted. DOEST AT&T BLACKLIST IPHONES IN USA? I've read countless stories about the blacklistings and such in the UK and other countries, but im not sure if they do it in the USA.
So my question is, how can i use my own at&t sim in this iphone? I know my friend is the original owner of it, so can he call at&t and un-blacklist the phone?
I really need the phone for everyday use and would appreciate help.
Thanks.

More info about your specific carrier, OS number, and what your friend did with the phone previously could shed some answers

just because you haven't said so explicitly in the thread:

Are you in the US? Is the SIM an AT&T SIM?

Is the phone AT&T model? Sprint? Verizon?
Is the SIM AT&T?
Does the SIM work in another phone or device?

I have an an AT&T sim. I live in the USA. and its an at&t phone. and yes it works in my old samsung atnt phone.

Also, if your sim card is very old you may need a new one. When I switched from a palm phone to the first iPhone my sim card was fine but it wouldn't work when the iPhone 3G came out.

The iPhone 4S came out in October. If a restore and a new sim card doesn't fix it take a trip to Apple. It's still under warranty.

Go with your friend too.
