i recently bought a new iMac.... and I'm new to macs too. I have a PC desktop, PC laptop, two iPads, iphone, and now a new iMac. OK, I like computers.

My question is....what backup drive should I get? I currently have an older 2TB Seagate drive (formatted NTFS) that I've used for the PC side, but what should I do for the Apple side? Any recommendations on brands? Should I go NAS and can I backup both PC and Mac to one drive, thus eliminating the older PC drive....or should I keep the two separate? I don't have anything on the Mac yet.....but I have the 2TB drive in it. Would a 4 TB NAS work for everything? I don't want to spend a fortune....what is a good normal setup?

cyber monday and black friday will probably have pretty good deals on usb 3.0 externals I'd imagine

You need a 2tb USB3 external drive, and CarbonCopyCloner.

Format the drive HFS+ and then run CCC.

You'll see what to do next.
