Just got a great freakin deal at my college.

They had an overstock of previous generation 24" iMac 2.8 extreme, 2gb, 500gb hd for only $999. brand new. I also got Applecare for $119.

Plus I got the iPod Touch and it qualifies for the rebate (have to cut and mail it in though, blah)

The thing is, I opened it up, turned it on and immediately I noticed a piece of hair inside the screen!! on the bottom. I thought it was outside the glass but nope its inside. Its a good size too. Also I noticed theres a bit yellow on the right corner, I think quite a few people have this.

Would my retail Apple store fix this? or should I just wait a bit and then get it replaced. I'm kinda lazy right now to pack it up and bring it down there. I already installed all my stuff and everything. This iMac is actually for my office, I already own a 2.4 24" iMac. That screen is perfect. For that iMac I had it CTO.

Man, I'm a little disappointed in Apple QC.

Yes you can take it to an Apple store. I would get it looked at if its off color, not just minor back light leakage. You can remove the hair yourself. The glass is held on by magnets. There are several YourTube videos showing how to do it.

I wouldn't recommend taking the glass off yourself unless you've done it before. I would have Apple do that when they look at the color.
