Before trying to reinstall Illustrator to see if it's a bug, has anyone got an idea to turn them back on ? TXS! Eggy

I find that switching to the scale tool and then back to the selection tool ought to do it. (I'm assuming you're not having bigger problems here, and it's just a random disappearance of the handles.)
